Making the future of delivery fair, sustainable, and socially just for everyone.

Our mission is to positively impact our city on a social, economic and environmental level by building a community asset that values people and environment over profit, helping local businesses not just survive but thrive during Covid and beyond for a more sustainable and resilient future.

Building a sustainable and resilient community asset.

Marché Commun is a social innovation project created by local nonprofit Covid-19 Help Hub. Covid-19 Help Hub emerged in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, helping vulnerable populations with food delivery and other vital programs.

The Grocery Program helps seniors and those sick with Covid safely get groceries.
The Walk & Talk Program breaks social isolation and builds community connections.
The Climate Cell Project creates community engagement in climate action

Proudly non-profit

As a non profit, the 1$ flat fee helps the platform to self finance. Additionally, Marché Commun actively promotes it's marketplace and works via advertising campaigns and special events that support the authentic Montreal experience. The fee also goes to supporting Covid-19 Help Hub’s social impact and food security programs.

Astrid Arumae

Project Lead, Founder & CEO
Astrid is an entrepreneur and social innovator.
I have found my purpose in combining entrepreneurial skills, business acumen and passion for social innovation in launching the Covid-19 Help Hub in March 2020 as I saw my community facing an unprecedented crisis. Soon after, the idea for Marché Commun emerged and I’m so excited to see how innovation, technology and more human business models can benefit our community. When I’m not busy running the non-profit, I enjoy time with my family, cooking and listening to BBC Radio2 or Marc Maron.

Alex Bar

Alex Bar, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of RedBox Media, a boutique Montreal based creative agency. Also co-founded MTLà and Passionate about events, technology, marketing and business strategy. We decided to join this particular project because we have a lot of friends and clients in the restaurant and event industry who have suffered badly due to Covid-19 restrictions. We feel there is an urgent need in the Quebec market for a fair and honest solution in the food delivery industry. We were approached for a collaboration by many companies but Marché Commun is the only one whose team and vision really felt right to us.
